US: Secret Service Planning Increased Inauguration Security

The upcoming US president’s inauguration in January 2025 has been labeled as a “national special security event.”

The Special Agent in Charge of the Secret Service’s VIP Protection Division, Eric Ranaghan, declared in a statement that “Domestic Special Security Events are events of the highest national significance.” The paper indicates that “the presidential inauguration on January 20, 2025” will also be observed under the same status, in addition to the counting and certification of electoral votes on January 6, 2025.

2021: Army absence is questioned
